Bottle ovens: a photo essay

These ovens were not for firing ceramic, but were used in the production of coloured glazes.

 



This oven is near the Gladstone Pottery Museum.

This oven is located at the Burleigh Works, Stoke-on-Trent's oldest working Victorian pottery.



This sculpture, inspired by the form of bottle ovens, is sited as you drive into Stoke on the Uttoxeter Road.
